Collab is short for Collaboration
From a Business with an "IT" individual that was designated because they had some aptitude to a small IT team that is on on island on their own. We want a community that tells all the secrets of what an IT Managed Service provider does, can help with, or you can do on your own to improve your technology needs. Oh, and we like to have fun while we do it.
We also make can break it down to very simple terminology for the non-techs out there.
Although I didn’t begin my journey as an IT professional, I’ve grown to appreciate the art of problem-solving inherent in the role. Over the years, I’ve served in various capacities, from a Senior Systems Engineer to a Director of Managed IT, and eventually ventured into the sales world of IT services. This diverse experience has allowed me to witness the multifaceted nature of IT companies and observe how different organizations function.
As a proud husband and father of four in a blended family, my life has been enriched by these roles. My eight years of service in the United States Army (11B) instilled discipline and resilience. Leveraging my GI Bill, I pursued Microsoft certifications and technical degrees while working full-time in the field. My career began as a desktop engineer, and over the past 15 years, I transitioned to the private sector as an IT consultant.
My ability to communicate effectively in both “geek” and “non-geek” language facilitated my ascent up the ladder. I’ve had the privilege of leading as an IT Director, delving into Solutions Architecture, and now venturing into Sales Engineering.
Recognizing that the IT industry is evolving, I’m committed to offering a fresh approach to learning and growing together as a community.
As the Senior Director of Enterprise Solutions, I lead our pre-sales engineering team. My time is dedicated to architecting cloud and security solutions for clients, managing projects with our engineering team, and collaborating with customers to drive business outcomes through technology. I’m a strong advocate for simplifying technology, embracing innovative solutions, and enhancing cyber defensibility. Adopting security frameworks like the CIS top 18 provides us with the best chance to stay ahead of current security challenges. I’m privileged to lead a team of incredibly talented individuals who are passionate about serving our customers.
Through my partnerships and relationships with other industry leaders, I frequently speak on emerging cloud and security technologies and share best practices within the MSP industry. I’m always eager to participate in partner panels and lead discussions with fellow tech professionals. With over 20 years of experience in various aspects of Small and Medium Business IT, I appreciate the ever-evolving nature of our field.
On a personal note, I’m a proud father of three active kids and a devoted husband. I enjoy the outdoors, music, and building Lego creations with my children.
